Margeaux Davis is Sonoma Academy’s very first Athlete of the Week! She embodies all of the qualities that this award focuses on: integrity, discipline, passion, commitment, and leadership. Margeaux was selected by the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach Koy Stewart. She is the varsity team captain and libero, known for being the most grounded player on the court as she heads into her fourth season on the varsity team. Margeaux has also played several years of club and beach volleyball.
What is your favorite pregame food?
Probably fro yo.
What’s your hype pregame song?
Anything Drake.
What’s your favorite memory of your sport?
Beating Montgomery last year in the semifinals. It was the farthest SA has ever got in the playoffs, and it was such a hype game.
What’s the hardest thing about a student athlete?
Probably balancing workload and practice – being able to both show up as a good student and as a good teammate and player at practice.
How does it feel being captain?
Being a captain feels amazing because I get to lead my team and help us win. I like being a mentor to other people, especially freshmen, and making it really fun for the team while building a good team connection. I still get to take it seriously, and am able to communicate what the team is thinking with coaches.
