Bailey Anderson (’28) is the first November Athlete of the Week! Bailey is a sophomore and an outside hitter on the volleyball team. She became AOTW right after the volleyball season ended in a close match against Urban. Here’s what one of her teammates had to say about her:
“Bailey improved so much this season. She was an absolute demon on the court and was one of the main reasons we did so well this season. She’s also one of the silliest people on our team and she can always cheer anyone up. Every practice with her is so hype and fun.”
How long have you been playing?
I’ve been playing volleyball since I was in the 4th grade, but I just recently started playing varsity volleyball for the school as a freshman.
Do you have a favorite moment from the volleyball team this year?
Probably all the times that Ashlynn has gotten a bloody nose and has had to shove toilet paper up her nose.
What position do you play? Do you want to change positions in the next year?
For club volleyball, I’ve played middle, but for school, I play outside and personally, I prefer outside because it’s just really fun to play. I definitely prefer it more.
There are a lot of underclassmen that need some advice as to how to become a good athlete. Do you have any tips and tricks?
It’s not all about the skill. Just be coachable, make good friendships and relationships with your teammates and your coaches. And just try your hardest.
Do you have a favorite ritual pregame?
Usually before my best games, I always take a nap right before the game for an hour. And that’s my best advice. Take a nap!
